Dubai takes another step to beat diabetes

Thousands participants took approximately 3.8kms long  in Dubai on Friday in a bid to raise awareness about diabetes and promote the benefits of a healthier lifestyle.

The UAE edition of the walkathon is being held by Landmark Group on November 17, as part of its annual initiatives to stem the global pandemic.

The walk will span approximately 3km, following which participants can check their sugar levels at free blood glucose testing kiosks.

The venue also offer several complimentary fun-filled activities, such as Zumba and yoga fitness sessions, as well as spot dance routines.

Diabetes is currently a common condition that people in the UAE have long been battling, and the alarming rates of the disease has led to the establishment of awareness campaigns and government initiatives that encourage people to take better control of their lives.
